I have experienced several road trips this fall. The beauty of the gorgeous autumn vistas is overwhelming. I love seeing the clear blue sky, red maples, yellow birch, and rusty oaks standing against a wall of evergreens. It’s as if each tree has its own personality. This one is gregarious and showy. That one is more comfortable in the background. The next, might not seem like much alone, but knows how to bring out the best in the others.
On my recent trip up to Sault Ste. Marie, when I rounded a bend, I would find myself grinning, and saying, “Oh! Wow! Thank you God for this! What beauty!” Seeing all the variety that makes up these glorious scenes, made me think of the friends and acquaintances that make up the “vista” of my life. There are so many, each one with different personality and influence.
I have friends who are quick to pray with me, to offer counsel. I have a whole family of friends with whom I work. I have out-going friends, and some who are introverted. I have older friends … and younger! Some of you I’ve known for a life-time and some of you are new to my life. As I round the bend to the next decade, I grin and say, “Oh! Wow!”
Thank you, Friends, for making my life beautiful!
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:6-8
